I Love You Berry Much!

Hello friends!  Today, I am sharing a berry sweet card that I created for a "Galentine's" Card Swap and Instagram Hop using some of the amazing newly released products from Kat Scrappiness

I started by coloring the strawberries from the Berry Sweet Stamp Set with Copic markers and I used the coordinating Berry Sweet Craft Dies to cut them out.  I die-cut the chocolate portion using the same die set, and I swiped the die-cut pieces over a dark brown ink pad until they were colored in really well.  Once the ink was completely dry, I swiped them across a Versamark ink pad and I heat embossed them with clear embossing powder several times, which gave them a beautifully raised glossy surface.  I then adhered them to the berries.
To create the card, I started with a white card base, and I layered one of the patterned papers from the Berry Sweet 6 x 6 Paper Pad onto a panel of pink, and then adhered them to the card base.  I used the Stitched Scalloped Border Dies to die-cut a piece of deep red card stock and then I heat embossed the sentiment from the Berry Sweet Stamp Set on it.  I wrapped that layer with iridescent white embroidery floss and adhered it to the card front, followed with a loopy bow.  Lastly, I added some Clear AB Glass Bubbles to the front of the card.
I hope that my swap partner really loves this card. It was berry fun to create!
I hope you will join us on Instagram for the Crafty Fun w/Friends of LV Handcrafted Hop!  There will be tons of inspiration for your last minute Valentine's cards!

A Fun Pop-Up Shaker Card!

Hi friends!  Today, I am sharing a fun 3-D card that I created using some amazing Kat Scrappiness products!

My crafty friends, LV Handcrafted and StamprGrl and I get together regularly to have some LIVE crafty shenanigans and our last Mystery Craft Along was a total blast!  Linh (LV Handcrafted) led us in creating a mystery fun-fold card and this was the result - a Tuxedo Pop Up Box Card.  We had no idea what we would be making, but by following her clues, we made this super cool card!

I decorated my card using the Heartfelt Wishes Slimline Paper Pad.  I created several heart shakers using the Love In Stitches Shaker Card Dies and I used the same dies to cut a few plain hearts.  I filled the shaker elements with 6mm Metallic Red Solid Heart Sequins and Sparkling Clear Diamond Jewel Mix

I am so glad that Linh showed us how to create this fun card!  I had never even heard of this fun-fold before!
Please make sure to head over to the shop and check out these fun products that I used!  They are PERFECT for all of the Valentines that you will be making!
Thanks so much for spending a few minutes of your day with me!

You'd Butter Be Mine!

Hello, friends!  I am still trying to wrap my head around the fact that January is done and dusted!  I swear that as I get older, time speeds up.

Today, I am sharing another card that I made using products from the Be My Valentine 2 Release from Kat Scrappiness.  I absolutely love this card!

When I saw the Butter Me Up Craft Dies and Butter Me Up Sentiment Stamps, I knew this card needed to come together!  It really was a ton of fun to create.
I die-cut the toast from a kraft and ivory card stocks, and then I added some Distress Oxide ink to the edges to add some dimension.  I die-cut the pat of butter and also inked up its edges before assembling the toast.
I used the Stitched Scalloped Border Dies to die-cut a panel from one of the papers in the Be My Valentine 6 x 6 Paper Pad along with a piece of red card stock, and I layered them over a piece of suede card stock, before adhering them to the card base.

I heat embossed the sentiment on a red banner and adhered it to the back of the piece of toast and then added it to the front of the card.  I added a bow made from hemp twine and finished the card with some Chocolate Jewels.
I hope that you love this card, too!  Make sure to check out this latest release in the shop!  You will not be disappointed!

Thanks so much for spending a few minutes of your day with me!

Do You Believe in Love at First Sight?

Hi friends!  I am back to share another card that I made for the new Kat Scrappiness Be My Valentine 2 Release!  This release is seriously chockers full of amazing products perfect for creating your Valentine's cards!

I die-cut the A2 Postcard Die from dark red card stock and set it aside.   I stamped several of the images from the Be My Valentine 6 x 8 Stamp Set, colored them with Copic markers, and die-cut them using the coordinating Be My Valentine Dies
I heat embossed several of the sentiments from the Be My Valentine Stamp Set and I adhered the focal image, which I wrapped with some iridescent embroidery floss to the large square and added a bow to it, and then I adhered the stamp in the upper right corner.  I added some sparkle to the Be Mine image and when it was dry, I popped it up in on a foam dot.
Lastly, I stamped the squiggly lines over the stamp, and I added some Clear AB Glass Bubbles.  The glass bubbles are seriously my favorite embellishment!  They just look amazing on anything, and they come in a huge variety of colors.
I hope you love this card as much as I do!   Make sure to check out all the new goodies in the shop!  You will NOT be disappointed!
Thanks so much for hanging out with me for a few minutes!  Have a great day!

Be Mine, Valentine!

Hello crafty friends!  I am so excited to be sharing this amazing card that I made with some of the brand-new products from the second Kat Scrappiness Valentine's Day Release!  I cannot even tell you how much goodness is in this release.  You will just have to join us over on Instagram for the Be My Valentine IG Hop!  If you hop along with us, there is a $25 prize up for grabs.

To create this card, I stamped these juicy berries from the Berry Sweet Stamp Set, colored them with Copic Markers, and used the coordinating dies to cut them out.  I also stamped the Be Mine image from the Be My Valentine Stamp Set, colored it, and cut it out with the coordinating dies

I die-cut a white panel using the A2 Heart Sunburst Die.  This is one of my favorite cover dies, and while I covered up the heart with the berries, it still adds a beautiful layer of dimension!
I layered one of the beautiful patterns from the Be My Valentine 6 x 6 Paper Pad behind the die-cut cover panel and adhered them to my card base.  I created a large loopy bow from some really old ribbon and iridescent embroidery thread from my stash.  I attached it to the center of my card with a glue dot and then popped the berries up on foam dots.  Lastly, I added the little sentiment with foam dots.

I really, really love this card!  I am so happy with how it came together.  Please make sure to check out all of the amazing goodies from this release in the shop!  You will not be disappointed!

Say I Love You with a Card!

Hi crafty friends!   I hope you have been having a good weekend!  I am over on the Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps blog today and I am so happy to be sharing another card that I made using the new Love You Stamp Set!

To create this card, I stepped WAY outside of my comfort zone in several ways.  I knew that I wanted to use a teal, purple and pink color palette, but I felt that it needed a color that would really make it pop, so I pulled out my color wheel to find a complimentary color and came up with yellow green.

I also created a mask, which is something I rarely do; however, I wanted the "You" to be in front of the love.  I recently saw that someone uses full sticky notes to create masks.  I didn't even know that was a thing, but I found them on Amazon.  I did need to pair two of them together to make it large enough; however, because the entire surface is sticky, it worked like a dream.

I stamped my image on the sticky notes, and I cut it out using a pair of snips.  I even cut out the center of the heart.  I then stamped the "You" on my card panel where I wanted it and placed the mask right over it.  When masking, you always start with the image that you want in front, and mask it, then stamp what you want in the background.  I stamped the "Love" image right over the top of the mask.  When I peeled the mask away, I had the perfect image.  Best part is that I put the mask in with my stamps and can re-use it again.
I colored the image using my Copic markers, and I added some accents (stripes) with a white gel pen.  to add the yellow-green effect, I scribbled with my Copic marker on my glass mat and picked it up with a water brush filled with 99% rubbing alcohol (or you can use blending solution).  I applied the color right next to the image and as it began to dilute, I dragged it outwards, giving the panel a light color wash.  I just learned this technique at boot camp, and I have to admit it is a ton of fun.
I paired some purple card stock with a teal patterned paper, which I distressed the edges of.  I adhered all of my panels together and attached them to the card base.  To complete the card, I added a paper flower to a loopy bow using my glue gun and added some rose colored rhinestones.
I have to say that I am in love with this stamp set.  It is so versatile, and incredibly fun to color up and create with!  Make sure to head to the shop and check it out!   It is available as just the stamp setcoordinating dies, or in a bundle that includes both.  You will save $5 by purchasing the bundle!
Thanks so much for hanging out with me!  I hope you have been inspired to try something new!

Love You!

Hello friends!  It is Release Day over at Prickley Pear Stamps and Dies today and I am so excited to share this fun Valentine's Day card that I created using the BRAND NEW Love You Stamp Set!  This stamp set is full of beautiful bold words and is perfect for coloring up.

To create this card, I stamped the "Love" sentiments five times, alternating the patterned stamp with the solid stamp.  I stamped the "You" on a separate piece of card stock.  Once I was sure my ink was dry, I colored them in with Copics, alternating the colors that I used to break it up.  If you look closely, you will see that the "Love" on the upward diagonal is all in the same color.  Fun!

I don't know about you, but I love red and purple together, but I NEVER use them... it reminds me of the poem by Jenny Joseph, "When I am an old woman, I shall wear purple..."!  This was a fun exercise in using colors.  I stuck to the red and purple for the "You" image and cut it out.

I layered the colored panel on red and purple card stocks and before adhering it to the card base, I wrapped some lilac crochet thread around it.  I popped the "You" up on foam dots to add some dimension and added a loopy bow.
I had so much fun creating this card and I hope that you love it as much as I do!
Please make sure to head to the shop and check out this fabulous new stamp set!

Hello friends!  I hope your New Year is off to a smashing start!  Today, the Kat Scrappiness Design Team is celebrating the new release with a super fun Instagram Hop!

I had the best time ever creating this fun Valentine's Day card using the brand new Pop the Bubbly Dies.  I die-cut the bottle from olive card stock and added some ink to add some dimension to the bottle.  The label is made from vellum and the foil from gold card stock. I also die-cut the glasses from vellum and used a greenish gold foil for the champagne.
I used the Stitched Hearts Coverplate Die to create a red panel, which I layered on gold cardstock and a base of shimmery black.  I adhered the bottle and glasses and added a loopy gold bow to the neck of the bottle.  I die-cut my sentiment in gold and black using the Love You Word with Shadow Die and popped it up with foam dots.  Lastly I added some Charcoal Black Rhinestones to the card front.
I absolutely love this card!  I hope that you will join us for the Instagram Hop and be entered for a chance to win a $25 Voucher to the shop

Thanks so much for hanging out with me for a few minutes!

I Only Have Eyes for You!

Hi friends!  Today, I am sharing a fun project that I created for the latest Artful Angel release.

A good friend of mine has a corgi, Pebbles, who is a true diva!  They moved away not too long ago, and I miss Pebbles, as much as I miss Kim.  When I saw the Woof You stamp set, I knew I had to make a card for her.

Corgi butts are one of the cutest things ever, so I had to color up this cute little ball of fluff with my Copics.  I paired my little friend with one of the sketches from Kendra's Card Challenge (KCC#8) and one of my favorite paper pads from Doodlebug.
I used one of the sentiments from the Big Love stamp set, and added a loppy bow with a paper flower.  The best part of the card is that it is a wobbler, so the floofy Corgi butt wiggles, just like in real life!

I can't wait to send this to her.  She will lose her mind!  Make sure to head over to the shop and check out all of the amazing stamps in the latest release!
Thanks so much for stopping by!

I Can't Imagine Life Without You!

Hi friends!  Today, I am sharing the first of me projects for the upcoming Artful Angel release.

I used a sketch from Kendra's Card Challenge to create my card.  If you haven't checked out this challenge, you should!  The sketches are fabulous, and at the end, you will have 17 cards ready to go.   I paired the sketch with the soon-to-be released Big Love stamp set.  This set is perfect for Valentine's Day or general romantic or friendship cards.

I chose this sketch because it allowed me to combine several fun patterned papers from the Doodlebug Lots of Love 6 x 6 Paper Pad, also available in the shop.

This release is so much fun and I can't wait to share the rest of the cards that I created for it. Make sure to head over to the Artful Angel Takes Flight Facebook Group to check out all of the amazing projects from the rest of the Design Team!  They will knock your socks off!

Wood You Be Mine?

Happy Saturday, friends!  I hope your weekend is off to a great start.  Today, I am sharing a fun-fold card that I created using the Keep It Simple Paper Crafts Lumberjack Collection

I saw a link to this tutorial for a Triangle Trifold Card by Twila Davis on Facebook and had to give it a try.  It was so much fun to create.

It's really hard to explain the mechanics of the card, and I honestly don't know if I made it correctly, but I love it!  The triangles open up to a hidden panel inside with plenty of room to write a message.
I paired a few of the patterned papers from the Lumberjack 6 x 6 Paper Pack with a whole bunch of the die-cut embellishments from the Lumberjack Collection Die-Cut Pieces and the Lumberjack Cards & Ephemera Die-Cut Pieces along with some die-cut circles that I inked up.
I think this would be a perfect Valentine's card for your favorite guy!  What do you think?
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Over The Threshold - Polkadoodles Craft Challenge Week 7

Good morning, crafty friends!  It is Friday, which means that we have an all-new Anything Goes Challenge up on the Polkadoodles Blog!

This week, the Design Team was challenged to create a Valentine's Day Card, so I decided to color up the darling Over the Threshold digi from the Work & Play Love & Kisses Collection using a combination of my Copic and Stampin' Up markers.   Now, I know that this is a bride and groom, but why can't it be used for a hot date on Valentine's Day?  💓

There are so many great papers in this collection that I wanted to make use of, but I decided to focus on two, with an accent color to match

To create my card, I used lots of layers, beginning with a kraft card base and a few of the digital papers from the collection, each layered over kraft cardstock, with the exception of my largest layer - I used Stampin' Up Pool Party for that layer.

I used the "Together Always" sentiment from the collection, along with a few of the digital embellishments.  Lastly, I used some Stampin' Up Pool Party ribbon to tie it all together.

I hope you are inspired to spend some time getting crafty!  Please hop over to the challenge blog and share your project with us!  Remember, it is Anything Goes, so there are no requirements!  If you enter the challenge, you may just win a prize!

As always, thank you so much for stopping by!  Please leave me a comment and let me know if you made any cards for Valentine's Day!

XOXO, Kim
