Cowgirl Love!

Happy Friday, friends!  Today, I am sharing a card that I had SO much fun creating!  I recently hosted a Mystery Craft Along with some of my favorite friends, and I taught them a variation on the Twisted Ribbon Technique.  I had so much fun with it, that I wanted to try it with washi tape rather than paper, and this time I used the traditional technique.

I love the Glitter Washi Tapes so much, so I decided to pair the Black and Hot Pink to create the Twisted Ribbon Panel.  I die-cut a black and pink banner and paired it with this adorable cowgirl image (colored with Copic markers) from The Greeting Farm that I received at Jennifer Dove's Boot Camp.

I die-cut the sentiment from a die in my stash and adhered it to the card front.  To complete my card, I added a silver metallic bow to the hot pink paper flower, and then added one of the beautiful new Rose Brads.

I hope you love this card too!

I Can't Imagine Life Without You!

Hi friends!  Today, I am sharing the first of me projects for the upcoming Artful Angel release.

I used a sketch from Kendra's Card Challenge to create my card.  If you haven't checked out this challenge, you should!  The sketches are fabulous, and at the end, you will have 17 cards ready to go.   I paired the sketch with the soon-to-be released Big Love stamp set.  This set is perfect for Valentine's Day or general romantic or friendship cards.

I chose this sketch because it allowed me to combine several fun patterned papers from the Doodlebug Lots of Love 6 x 6 Paper Pad, also available in the shop.

This release is so much fun and I can't wait to share the rest of the cards that I created for it. Make sure to head over to the Artful Angel Takes Flight Facebook Group to check out all of the amazing projects from the rest of the Design Team!  They will knock your socks off!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hey, Foxy!

Hello, fabulous friends!  I have been dying to share this card with you!  As I mentioned, the other day, when I went shopping at Prickley Pear Stamps & Dies, I couldn't pick just one set to work with, so this is the second project that I created, this time using the Magical Enchanted Day Clear Stamp Set and the Fox and Wreath Die

I had colored up the image with Copic markers (colors listed below) and die-cut it with the coordinating dies and set it aside.  I have always thought of the red fox as a somewhat mystical creature, as they are so elusive, so I wanted to create a card that was reminiscent of an enchanted forest.  I printed some gorgeous digital papers that I found on Etsy and I inked up the edges using Walnut Stain Distress Ink.
I die-cut the wreath 5 more times from white card stock, and I glued each layer together to allow the wreath to really stand out on the card and then I tucked the sweet little fox behind the wreath.  I heat embossed the sentiment in white on dark brown cardstock, die-cut it into a banner, and tucked it behind the wreath.  I adhered all of my elements on to my card base and finished it up by adding a dainty bow and some Pale Gold Nuvo Drops.
Colors Used:

Wreath - G99, YG67, YG63, YG61

Mushrooms - E49, R59, R29, R24, Neutral Grays

Browns - E49, E47, E44, E43

Fox - YR18, YR27, YR24

When I first saw this beautiful stamp set, I imagined that I would create a shaker card with it, but after I started putting all of the elements together, I felt that it would be too much.  This has turned out to be one of my absolute most favorite cards!  I hope you love it too!

Please make sure to stop by the Prickley Pear Shop and give them some love!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Do Flamingos Flirt?

Hello friends!  I am so happy to have had the opportunity to create with the amazing products from Prickley Pear Stamps & Dies again!  I really love their shop!  When I went shopping, I couldn't stop at just one, as usual, so I will be bringing you two projects over the next few days.  Today, I am sharing a card using the Flamingo Boundless Love stamp set.

I really loved coloring up these beauties with my Copic markers (colors listed below).  I cut them out and set them aside.   I had originally envisioned something different for my card, but it's funny how things work out.
I found some beautiful tropical digital papers on Etsy, and I thought that the pink and yellow leaves would be perfect as a backdrop for these lovebirds! I die-cut a heart and dry embossed it and then inked up the edges using Saltwater Taffy Distress Ink.  I inked up all of the cardstock layers, also.  I stamped a sentiment and die-cut it into a banner and adhered it to the card front.  I wrapped the flamingos' necks around each other and then added them to the card, followed with a bow and some sequins.
Colors Used:
RV29, R35, R32, R30
I really, really loved creating this card!  If you haven't visited the Prickley Pear shop, please make sure that you do!  They have a fabulous selection of stamps and dies and their customer services is amazing!
Thanks so much for stopping by!   I still want to know if you think that flamingos flirt!

I Will Always Be With You

Hi friends!  I am so excited to share this fun card starring a few of my absolute favorite characters!  I had the honor of designing with the beautiful Polynesian Princess digital stamps from Paper Nest Dolls.

I colored all of the images with Copic markers (colors listed below) and cut them out.  I paired the image with a beachy background that I had created previously.
I die-cut an oval from a piece of white cardstock and dry embossed it using my absolute favorite Pinewood Planks embossing folder (retired) from Stampin' Up.  I printed up my favorite quote from the movie to create my sentiment banner and I applied ink directly to the edges of the banner.  I finished by adding some paper flowers.
Colors Used:
Skin - E11, E32, E25, RV32
Hair - E44, E49, C09
Skirt - E53, E51, E50
Top - R29, R08, R06, E95
Flower - RV13, RV11, R10, Y17
Rooster - R59, R29, R35, YR27, YR68, YR15, E13, E17, Y15, Y11
BG49, BG57, BG53
Pig - RV13, RV11, RV10, N07, N05, N03, C2, C0, 0
I hope that you love this card as much as I loved creating it!  Please head over to Paper Nest Dolls and check out all of her hand drawn images!  They are absolutely amazing!

Artful Angel - C.C. Designs Duo

Hello crafty friends!  Today, I am up on the Artful Angel blog and I am so excited to share with you these fun cards I made using the C.C. Designs Duos stamp set!   How cute are these?  This stamp set has 15 different images that can be combined, 2 sentiments, and 3 smaller coordinating images, allowing you to create cards for any occasion!

To create my cards, I colored my images (colors listed below), fussy cut them, and set them aside.  I wanted my cards to be light and airy, so I started with a card base of white and a top layer of white, die-cut using the C.C. Designs Rectangle Dies.  I die-cut a panel from coordinating card stock using the C.C. Designs Scalloped Rectangle Dies.

I die-cut a heart from the white panel, and I cut a smaller heart and set it aside.  I adhered my white panel with the heart die-cut to the colored panel, and then attached them to my card base.  I adhered the white heart to the center of the heart in the panel.

Using VersaMark ink, I stamped the sentiment on black card stock and heat embossed it in white.  I die-cut the sentiment using a banner die and adhered it to the front of my card panel.  I stamped the plus sign in the middle of the white heart and added my main images.

How cute are these cards?  Once I figured out my layout, I was able to whip these out in no time flat!

PPC&F - Prickley Pear Designs - Spinach & Ramona

Hi crafty friends!  Prickley Pear Stamps and Dies is our sponsor this week over at Passionate Paper Creations & Friends.  If you haven't checked them out, you MUST!  I was unfamiliar with their designs, and I feel like I had really been missing out!  They have an amazing selection in their store!

I had the pleasure of working with the Frog Pals Spinach and Ramona stamp set and Frog Dies.  I just couldn't resist these little cuties.   As a side note, I just read an article that our area is being taken over by some invasive species of frogs.  It makes me sad, because one of the things that I love best about where I live are the sounds of our native frogs!  We have a few ponds on our property, so frogs are a constant.  I hope they survive!

I colored the images up with my Copics (colors listed below) and die-cut them using the coordinating dies. I love the blue and yellow color pallet and because Spinach and Ramona are in denim overalls, I decided to work with that color combination.

I layered up some printed papers that I have in my stash and added a bow of white seam binding.   To create my focal image, I traced the lily pad onto my white panel so that I would have an idea of where to add depth.  I created a watery background with my Copics and then adhered the lily pad in place.  I arranged Spinach and Ramona on the lily pad and then added the flowers.  Once I was happy with placement, I glued them down.  After determining where I would place the sun, I stamped my sentiment and then adhered the sunshine image.

Colors Used:

Ramona:  G29, YG17, YG25, YG00, R83, C2, C1, C0

Spinach:  G29, G46, G11, YG00, R83

Denim:  B45, B41

Shirts:  Y17, Y15, Y08, Y11

Lilypad:  G07, YG25, YG11, YG00

Lotus:  RV29, RV25, RV21

Water:  B16, B14, B12

This stamp set was so much fun to create with!  Come on over to PPC&F and see all of the amazing inspiration from the rest of the Design Team!  They will really knock your socks off.  While you are there, check out the surprise that Prickley Pear Stamps and Dies has offered for our members!  If you aren't a member, there is still time for you to join and get in on the fun!
