Hey Pumpkin!

Hi friends!  I am over on the Eyelet Outlet blog today!  I had so much fun creating my last Memory Dex Card that I decided I needed to create a fall-themed one to share with you!   I also am participating in a Dex swap, so this was a great opportunity to kill two birds with one stone!

I colored up these cute images from the Happy Fall Y'all stamp set from Scrappy Boy Stamps with Copic Markers (listed below), cut them out and set them aside.   I knew that I wanted to pair her with some fall brads, so when I die-cut my Memory Dex card, I knew that I would need multiple layers so that I could add some foam to leave room for the brads in back.  I die-cut one card from heavy-weight card stock, and I cut two more from two different patterned papers.
I used my paper trimmer to cut the plaid card to 2" and I adhered it to the leaf patterned card.  I wrapped them with Sparkle Copper Glitter Washi Tape (this is literally my favorite washi ever!) and then I adhered my colored images to the card front.
I added a Pumpkin Brad at the base of her feet and scattered some Mini Leaf Brads all around.  Once they were in place, I added foam tape to the back and adhered it to the heavyweight dex card.   Lastly, I stamped my sentiment, and I bordered it with a layer of cardstock that I wrapped with the washi.

Friends are Flowers

Hello friends!  It's Saturday, and that means that we have a brand new Anything Goes Challenge in full swing over on the Polkadoodles Blog.  This week, the Design Team was challenged to create a friendship themed project using flowers and autumn colors, so I decided to create a tag.

I was dying to play with the Magic Garden Soup collection, and they were perfect to crate my tag with.  I printed up one of the tags and numerous elements from the collection and cut them out.

Using Antique Linen Distress Ink, I inked up the edges of all of my elements and I also used a script background stamp randomly on the tag.

I layered my elements and adhered them to the tag and finished by adding some ribbon.

I hope that you are inspired to go get crafty and create something beautiful!  Make sure to share it with us and be entered to win some great prizes, not to mention bragging rights!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Sneak Peek! A Harvest Full of Blessings!

Happy Saturday, everyone!  Two posts from me in one day!  Can you believe it?

I am so excited to share with you my preview of the soon-to-be-released (like TOMORROW) Thanksgiving Blessings Stamp Set from Artful Angel!

I love this stamp set - it includes 7 different sentiment stamps with a fall/gratitude/Thanksgiving theme - and they are really so versatile!

With my card today, I wanted to show you that it can be so quick and easy to create something incredibly beautiful!  I used some gorgeous, patterned papers from the Echo Park Welcome Autumn 6x6 Mega Pad and I inked up the edges of the panels with Walnut Stain Distress Ink.   I die-cut a circle from a dry embossed panel that I had laying around and I inked up the edges of it also.

I heat embossed my sentiment on white cardstock and I trimmed the sentiment strip into a banner, and then I created two more banners from patterned paper.  I adhered all of my elements to a brown card base and lastly, I created a loopy bow using some thin grosgrain ribbon and some linen thread.

I wanted a button for the front of the bow, but I didn't have any, so I used one of the Eyelet Outlet Leaf Brads and I cut off the legs of the brad using wire snips and used a hot glue gun to adhere it to the bow.

Once I had my game plan in place, this card came together so quickly and easily.  I love that this will be easy to mass produce, also!

Please make sure to join us in the Artful Angel Takes Flight Facebook Group so that you don't miss any of the release day festivities!  Tomorrow, join us for the Release Day Instagram Hop and be entered for a chance to win the entire release!   The entire release will be available in the Artful Angel Shop on 9/25/22.  Use discount code "KIMSIMPSON" at checkout to save 10% on your order!

Autumn Wishes - Coffee Cup Gift Card Holder

Hello friends!  Today, I am sharing a fun, fall coffee cup gift card holder on the Eyelet Outlet Blog.  You may remember that I created one a while back, and I loved it so much that today, I wanted to show you how easy it is to give it a completely different look, perfect for celebrating the change of seasons!

I die-cut the gift card holder from white card stock using the Honey Bee Stamps Coffee Cup Gift Card Holder Dies.  I die-cut two of the cup portions from some beautiful fall floral paper and adhered them to the front and back panels of the gift card holder.  I added some gray to the lid pieces using Copic markers to make the white stand out.
I added some brown 4mm rhinestones to the center of some of the flowers and set it aside to work on the belly band.
I wanted to use some Mini Leaf Brads on the cup sleeve (belly band) and I knew that to do so, I would need to create some space to make room for the brads.  To do that, I cut a second belly band and tripped it down.  I drew in some white stitching with a white paint pen.  I heat embossed my sentiment onto a white circle and adhered it down.  I punched a few 1/16" holes and added the brads.  I added foam squares to the back and placed the panel over the actual belly band. Lastly, I added some more brown rhinestones.

Hello Fall!

Hello, crafty friends!  I am over on the Eyelet Outlet Blog today sharing this gorgeous card that I made to celebrate the return of fall!

I absolutely love the warm, rich colors of fall, and so I used some papers from the Echo Park Fall 6 x 6 Mega Pad.  I distressed the edges of all of my layers using Walnut Stain Distress Ink.  I wrapped the patterned paper layers with a piece of lace.

I wrapped a piece of card stock with Brown Sparkle Glitter Washi Tape and I die-cut the letter "a."  I die-cut the rest of the letters to spell "fall" from the coordinating papers.  I heat-embossed the word "hello" using Kindred Stamps Dino Dust Embossing Powder and trimmed it down.
I dry embossed a white panel using my favorite, but unfortunately retired Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder from Stampin' Up.  I punched two 1/16" holes and placed the Leaf Brads.  I adhered my die-cut letters to the panel and then placed the hello strip.  I popped the panel up on foam squares which allowed space for the backs of the brads.
I tied a loopy bow using some brown grosgrain ribbon paired with some linen thread.  I used a sunflower brad as a button.  Using wire snips, I removed the legs of the brad and used my hot glue gun to glue it down to the bow.   I adhered it to the front of the card.

Sweater weather? Yes, please!

Hey friends!  It is Saturday and you know what that means!   Yep!  You guessed it!   We have a new Anything Goes Challenge starting on the Polkadoodles Crafting Blog

This week the Design Team theme is Autumn/Halloween, and because I am a lover of sweater/shawl weather (and I am so ready!!!), I created this fun card using the adorable Eli Elephant Clearing Leaves digital stamp.
I colored him up with Copic markers (colors listed below) and cut him out.  I paired him with some fun digital papers from the shop that I die-cut and layered with some great autumn colors.   I pulled out some old Stampin' Up punches and punched up a handful of autumn leaves and acorns and clustered them.and added some crochet thread to tie it all together.
To finish my card, I heat embossed my sentiment and added some Nuvo Drops.
Colors Used:
Eli - W7, W5, W3, W1, W00, R20, E95
Yellow - E13, Y17, Y15, Y11
Brown - E18, E15, E13

Happy Fall, Y'all! - Artful Angel August Release IG Hop

Hi friends!  Today is release day for Artful Angel and we are celebrating with an Instagram Hop - more on that later, though!
I am telling you... with all of the heat we have been experiencing lately, I am dreaming of the day I can dig out my shawls, sweaters, and boots and hunker down with some hot cocoa!  I digress, though!  I created this fun card to celebrate fall using the Fall Fun stamp set.
I colored up the red panda and leaf pile using Copic markers (colors listed below), cut them out and set them aside.  Using the C.C. Designs Circle Dies, I die-cut the scalloped circle from a digital paper and the stitched circle from white card stock.  I applied Walnut Stain Distress Ink to the edges of both circles.  I wrapped a panel of another digital paper with retired Stampin' Up ribbon and tied a bow, and then adhered the panel to my card base.  I adhered the circles to the card base, followed by my images.
Colors Used:
E09, E08, E07, E29
E43, E41, R20
Please make sure to join us over on Instagram for the hop!  The Design Team has created some amazing inspiration for you and if you hop along with us, you could win the entire release!
