Down Syndrome Awareness - Homie with an Extra Chromie!

Hi friends!  Recently I hosted another Mystery Craft Along event with Artful Angel and we had so much fun!  For this month's event, we created a Joy Fold Card with a twist.  I decided to create a square card that opens vertically, rather than the traditional horizontal opening.

I colored up the sweet hand in hand image from the Extra Chromie stamp set, cut it out, and set it aside.  I loved the Perfect2Me digital paper collection from AZRedHead that I found on Etsy and had used previously, so I used some of the other papers that I hadn't used previously for this card.

I love how the Joy Fold card is always a surprise when I open it!  It's a little mini card on top of a card!  How fun is that?!

A Very Special Birthday

 Hi crafty friends.  Today, I am sharing another card that I created for the Artful Angel August Release!  This card features the Extra Chromie stamp set that was inspired by a sweet young lady named Lucy. 

I colored up the image using Copic markers (colors listed below) and cut it out.  I found the perfect digital paper collection on Etsy from AZRedHead.  It is called Perfect2Me and it is a Down Syndrome Awareness collection.  I loved this fun paper and thought it would be a perfect backdrop for this cool dude! 

I created some coordinating banners to adhere to the card front.  I stamped the sentiment in blue ink and heat embossed over it with clear embossing powder.  I adhered all of my elements to the card front, created a little awareness ribbon from crochet thread and attached it to the card.  Lastly, I added some blue enamel dots.

Artful Angel August Release - Extra Chromie

 Hi friends!  I have some super special projects to share with you!  To celebrate the new August Release from Artful Angel, I created a few extra projects.  Down Syndrome Awareness Month is celebrated in October, and in honor of a very sweet young lady, Artful Angel has released the Extra Chromie stamp set.  Charis wanted to make sure that this set was available in plenty of time to celebrate with your loved ones in October.

I created my very first Memory Dex card using the Extra Chromie stamp set paired with the Perfect2Me digital paper collection from AZRedHead on Etsy.  I colored my main image with Copic markers (colors listed below). 

I die-cut my base using the Heidi Swapp Memory Dex Dies three times - twice from blue card stock and once from one of the patterned papers. I trimmed the patterned Dex card in half and adhered to the front of the blue card.  I wrapped some blue glittery ribbon around the two and adhered the other blue card to the back.   I stamped my sentiment and trimmed the strip into a banner, and created a banner from yellow card stock.  I adhered them behind my stamped image and attached them all to the front of my dex card.  I finished by adding some blue enamel dots and a bow of yellow and blue crochet thread.

Hair - E18, E15, E13

Pants - B29, B26, B24, B21

Shirt - Y17, Y13, Y11

When this set was released, a portion of the proceeds from the sales of the stamp set were donated to Cornerstone Ranch, a community for those with special needs in McKinney, Texas.

Happy Fall, Y'all! - Artful Angel August Release IG Hop

Hi friends!  Today is release day for Artful Angel and we are celebrating with an Instagram Hop - more on that later, though! 

 I am telling you... with all of the heat we have been experiencing lately, I am dreaming of the day I can dig out my shawls, sweaters, and boots and hunker down with some hot cocoa!  I digress, though!  I created this fun card to celebrate fall using the Fall Fun stamp set. 

I colored up the red panda and leaf pile using Copic markers (colors listed below), cut them out and set them aside.  Using the C.C. Designs Circle Dies, I die-cut the scalloped circle from a digital paper and the stitched circle from white card stock.  I applied Walnut Stain Distress Ink to the edges of both circles.  I wrapped a panel of another digital paper with retired Stampin' Up ribbon and tied a bow, and then adhered the panel to my card base.  I adhered the circles to the card base, followed by my images.

Family = Fun!

 Hi friends!  Today, I get to share one of the projects that I made for the Artful Angel August Release.  I created this fun fall-themed card using the fabulous F is For stamp set. I chose to use the family sentiment because for me, fall represents family time.  I think I see my family more during the fall than I do the rest of the year. 

I colored up the cute red pandas using Copic markers (listed below) and I paired them with a non-traditional (but one that I love) color combo.  I used the C.C. Designs Stitched Rectangle Dies to die-cut my layers, and I inked the edges with Walnut Stain Distress Ink.  

I stamped the sentiment in Walnut Stain Distress Oxide, added a bow and popped the pandas up with foam tape.
