Fun in the Sun with Timmy Turtle!

Hello, everyone!  I don't know about you, but I can't believe that September is nearly here!  I am taking one last shot at summer today, because as much as I am looking forward to sweater weather, I am not quite ready for our rainy season!

I had the absolute pleasure of working with some more digital images from Last Minute Manda and I chose the adorable Timmy Turtle Loves the Beach digi set and made this super cute trio of summer cards.

I colored all of the images using the same color palette with Copic markers (listed below), cut them out, and set them aside to figure out my layouts.  I found some the amazing Gone Surfing digital paper collection from Scrapbook Gems on Etsy that I used on all three cards.
How cute is this darling turtle driving the car?  I wanted to add something to the license plate, so I used the Honey Bee Stamps Big Pickup Tailgate stamp set to add the license plate text.   It was perfect!
I die-cut two circles using the Card Basics Dies from Kindred Stamps and I inked the edges using Stampin' Up Pacific Point ink.  I inked the edges of all of the other card stock panels using Stampin' Up Pumpkin Pie ink.  For the sentiment, I did some two-toned stamping using the same colors with the Celebrate & Enjoy stamp set from The Greeting Farm.
To complete my card, I popped the sentiment panel up on foam squares, the turtle and car on doubled up foam squares and then added some Dew Drops.
For my second card, I paired this cute image from more digital papers from the collection I mentioned above.  I used the Elizabeth Craft Stitched Indented Squares to create a backdrop for the turtle.
This time, I inked up the edges using Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink and Pacific Point from Stampin' Up.  I stamped the sentiment from the Mini-Remix Sunshine stamp set from the Greeting Farm and I popped that panel up on foam squares.
I then popped the turtle up using doubled up foam squares to give him some extra height.  Lastly, I added some Dew Drops.
For my last card, I found a sentiment that I really loved, and I printed it out.  I used the Card Basics Dies from Kindred Stamps to die-cut my circles again, and I inked all of the panels up using Pacific Point ink.  (This time I inked the entire circle using a sponge dauber).
As in the previous cards, I used a single layer of foam squares for the sentiment panel and I doubled them up for the main image.  Lastly, I added some dew drops.
Colors Used:
Turtle Body - G07, YG25, YG11, YG00, R21, R20

The Sky's the Limit!

Good morning, friends!  I had so much fun creating this cheerful mini slimline card using the Blue Skies stamp set from Lawn Fawn and I have been DYING to share it with you!

I loved coloring up these beautiful hot air balloons with Copic markers (colors listed below) and I used the coordinating Lawn Cuts to cut them out.

I die-cut the grass, sun, and clouds using the fabulous Up In The Clouds dies from Whimsy Stamps.  I paired the grass and sun dies with some cute polka dot digital papers that I found on Etsy and used them to create my scene.  I stamped one of the sentiments from the set and cut it up, and then backed each piece with the yellow polka dot paper and I popped the word "sky's" up on foam dots to make it stand out.  Lastly, I added some Dew Drops.
Colors Used:
Red - R59, R29, R27, R24
Orange - YR09, YR07, YR04
Yellow - Y17, Y15, Y11
Green - G07, YG25, YG11, YG00
Blue - B18, B16, B14
Brown - E18, E15, E13
A HUGE thank you to Lawn Fawn for providing such a fun product to craft with!  Your generosity is so appreciated!
I hope that this card serves as a reminder that there is NOTHING you cannot accomplish!  The sky is truly the limit!   Thank you so much for stopping by!

Danni's Dreams Happy Snail Mail Swap - July 2022

Hey friends!  I hope you are staying cool!  It is super warm here in the Pacific Northwest.  I am so excited to share this fun card that I created for a swap!  Danni Bindel (@Danni's Dreams) will be hosting the swaps in her group - Danni's Dreams Happy Snail Mail Swaps on Facebook.  I am so glad that I was able to participate in the first swap!

The theme of our swap is Summer.  We were to make an A2 sized card appropriate for summer, and in our message, share with the recipient what summer is like where we live.  I instantly thought of picnics - and what says summer and picnics, but watermelon!  I recently purchased the adorable Summer Fruits stamp set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps and so I colored up the watermelon with my Copics (listed below) and cut it out.

The watermelon is making my mouth water!  I layered up some digital papers from Scrapbook Gems that made me think of picnic tablecloths on red and black card stock.  I heat embossed the sentiment in black and I added a little ant brad from Eyelet Outlet that I purchased at the Stamp & Scrapbook Expo a few months ago.  I purchased them just for watermelon cards!  Lastly, I added a bow made from baker's twine.

Colors Used:

Reds - R59, R29, R27, R24

Greens - G07, YG25, YG11, YG00

Black - N10, N8, N6

White Gelli Roll Pen
I won't post this until I know that my partner received it, and I am so excited!  This was a relatively simple card to pull together, and I hope that she loves it!  It is currently on its way to the great state of Texas!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

All Dressed Up - Unicorn Swim

Hello lovelies!   I have been dying to share this card that I created using the adorable Unicorn Swim digital stamp to All Dressed Up Stamps!  If you know me at all, you will know why I was so excited to color this beauty up!  It just screamed my name!

I am obsessed with unicorns!  If I could be one, I would!  LOL!  Literally every spare inch of my office is covered in unicorns - most of them gifted to me by my staff and co-workers.  When I saw this digital stamp, I had to color it with Copic markers (colors listed below).  How sweet is this little girl on her floaty?
This card gave me the perfect opportunity to use some amazing papers that I received in the May Pool Party Kit from Sonoran Desert Crafts.  It was just begging to be used, so I gave in.  I printed a digital sentiment from Polkadoodles and started layering my elements.  To complete my card, I added a grosgrain bow and some clear sequins.
Colors Used:
Skin - E04, E11, E21, E00, E000, R20
Hair - E18, E15, E13
Bathing Suit - BG49, BG57, BG53, BG00, BG000, V09, V06

Club La-La Land Crafts - June 2022 Kit - Coastal Marci

Hello friends!  I haven't posted in a quick minute, but I promise I have been crazy busy creating all kinds of fun stuff!  Today, I am so excited to share what might be my all-time favorite card!

My friend Charlene (@scrappygma) recommended the Club La-La Land Craft Kit, and the June kit was so adorable that I had to jump on it!   The kit is chockers full of crafty goodness!  It included the adorable Coastal Marci stamp set, Silly Seagulls stamp set, the Seashore Circle Die, Pilings Die, and Pilings Border Die.  Let me tell you the creative possibilities are ENDLESS with this kit!
How adorable is this card?  When I look at it, I honestly can't believe that I created it.  LOL!  I wanted to attempt to color a background using my Copic markers (all of the colors listed below).  This was a first for me and I am just stunned with how amazing it turned out!  Huge shout out to Charlene for talking me off the ledge and preventing me from scrapping it!
I colored Marci and the seagull with Copics, cut them out and set them aside.  I used a terry cloth towel and alcohol to add some subtle texture to her straw hat.  I die-cut the piling using kraft card stock and added some depth with my markers.  I stamped my sentiment and layered it on a kraft panel, that I also inked the edges up to add dimension.   Once I had all of my elements ready, I adhered my beach panel to a card base and added the wood frame die-cut (Hero Arts Wood Frames Dies).  I then arranged the elements and when I was happy with it, I added a few dew drops.
Colors Used:
Skin - E04, E11, E21, E00, E000, R20
Hair - E13, E55, E53, Y32, Y13, E00
Pants - R59, R29, R27, R24
Shirt/Shoes - B69, B66, B63, B60
Skirt/Gull - C3, C1, C00, 0
Hat - Y21, E34, Y23, YR23
Sand - W5, W3, W1
Water - B91, B00, B000 BG000
Sky - B00, B000, BG0000
White Gel Pen
I am so unbelievably proud of this card!  I just love it!  I am so glad that I stretched myself to try coloring a background!  It wasn't nearly as awful as I thought it would be!  I hope that you are inspired to step outside of your comfort zone and create something fun today!
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Rediscover Your Supplies Instagram Hop - Summertime

Hi friends!  I am so excited to be taking part in a super cool Instagram Hop for card makers today!  It is all about rediscovering your craft supplies and using what you have on hand.  My amazing friend Kim (@canterburycarddesigns) invited me, and let's be real... I have a LOT of supplies just begging to be used, so I jumped on in!

When I think of summertime, I immediately think of the 4th of July!  It has always been a holiday represented by barbecues, picnics, parades, and fireworks.   I came across the United We Stand stamp set from Honey Bee Stamps, which was probably one of the first sets I ever purchased from them, but hadn't used.  It was PERFECT!
I stamped the flag on white card stock, cut it out, and layered it on navy card stock.  I created my own background on red card stock by randomly stamping the stars and celebrate in white ink and then layering the panel on navy card stock.
I adhered the red and navy panels to a white card base and then I heat embossed the sentiment in white and layered it on a red panel.
I popped the flag and sentiment up with foam squares, added a bow made of navy bakers twine and some clear sequins.
I really love this card and what it represents!  I hope you will pop over to Instagram and check out all of the other inspiration!
Thank you so much for stopping by!
