Artful Angel June Release and IG Hop - Savannah - Hang In There

 Oh my gosh!  It is release day over at Artful Angel and the Design Team has been hard at work to bring you TONS of inspiration!  I created this bright cheerful card featuring our favorite Savannah Sloth, drawn by the amazing Dustin Pike!  

I absolutely love this image of Savannah swinging from a vine and reaching for the bee.  I felt like she needed to be in the tropics, so this was the result.  I colored the Savannah image from the Hang In There stamp set using Copic markers (colors listed below), cut her out and set her aside. 

I found these bright tropical digital papers from Jo Kavanaugh on Etsy and knew they were PERFECT for this card.  I layered them on my card base and covered the seam with some bright pink ribbon that I had in my stash. 

I die-cut and layered some white rectangles using some dies from C.C. Designs, placed Savannah and the bee on top, and adhered them to the front of the card.   I stamped my sentiment and created a two layer banner using a banner punch from Stampin' Up, and then attached to the front of the card using foam dots.  I finished my card with a few embellishments from Kindred Stamps.

Artful Angel June Release - Savannah - Hang In There

 Hello friends!  I am so excited to share my project for the Artful Angel June Release!  I created this fun card using the June sketch challenge and the Hang In There stamp set, starring our favorite sloth, Savannah.  I turned the sketch on its' side to create a horizontal card.

I colored the sweet Savannah ballerina from the soon to be released Hang In There stamp set using Copic markers (colors listed below), cut her out and set her aside. 

I printed a digital paper that I had in my stash, paired it with Balmy Blue card stock from Stampin'  Up, and started creating lots of layers.  I pulled out my favorite dies - yeah, you know the ones - and die-cut my circles, and I die-cut my sentiment banner using the Sentiment Strip dies from Kindred Stamps.

Claws - E13, Y26

Tutu/Bow - B02, B01, B00, B000, B0000

Artful Angel May Release - Day 2 - S'more Wishes starring Savannah the Sloth

 Hello again, lovelies!! I wanted to share my project reveal for Day 2 of the May Release!  Today, I created a card that spotlights our favorite Savannah the Sloth.  

For this card, I wanted to keep an outdoorsy, camping, theme, and I figured what better way to do that than to incorporate some red plaid (think Lumberjack), wood frame, and a beautiful starlight night!  I colored Savannah at the campfire and the lantern using Copic markers (colors listed below), cut her out and set her aside.

To create my ink-blended starry background, I began with a 4 ¼’ x 5 ½’ panel of Distress Watercolor paper.  Using a foam blending tool, I blended the first layer using Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide Ink.  When I was satisfied with the coverage, I blended a wavy stripe of Wilted Violet Distress Oxide through the center of the panel.  I then added Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide to the upper right corner of the panel and Faded Jeans Distress Oxide across the bottom.   I finished by adding an additional layer of Chipped Sapphire along the outer edges.  I spritzed water over the card stock and let it set for a few minutes and then laid a towel over the panel and placed pressure on it to pick up the excess water.  Finally, I spritzed the panel with Iridescent Shimmer Ink Spray and Silver Metallic Ink Spray.  I set the panel aside to dry completely.

While that was drying, I die-cut a wood frame using the Hero Arts Wood Frames Dies and ink-blended with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Ink.   I also die-cut some grass panels from watercolor paper using the C.C. Designs Cloud and Grass Dies and I water colored them using Altenew Crisp Dye Inks in Lime, Limeade and Fresh Leaf.

I adhered a panel of plaid paper from the Echo Park Let’s Lumberjack 6 x 6 Paper Pad to a black card base.  I then set to work creating my scene.  I trimmed my grass and starry panels to fit in the frame and attached them, grass first, using liquid adhesive.  I then adhered the frame to the card base and added Savannah and the lantern.

To finish off my card, I embossed the sentiment on black card stock in white and die-cut it using the C.C. Designs Scalloped Rectangle Dies.  I popped the sentiment panel up using foam dots.

Artful Angel Design Team - Savannah Popping By - Mystery Craft Along

 Hi crafty friends!  The last few weeks have been a whirlwind with the launch of Artful Angel's new stamp line!  To celebrate the release of the Savannah the Sloth series, I had the honor of hosting a Mystery Craft Along in the Artful Angel Takes Flight Facebook Group.   If you don't know what that is, read on!  

In case you don't know what the fuss is all about, Artful Angel launched their stamp line last month.  Popping By is the first in a series of Savannah stamp sets.   It is a 3 x 4 stamp set that includes Savannah popping out of a floral bush, a rainbow, and 2 sentiments.  

For the Craft Along, I provided a supply list a week ahead of time to allow participants to prepare their supplies and be ready to get crafty during the event.   During the event, I provided a clue every 10 minutes and at the end of the hour-long event, participants had completed a fun fold card.  

This was such a fun event and I really enjoyed creating this card.  I can't wait to see the next Savannah stamp sets!
