Hi again, crafty friends! Can you believe that there are only two days left until Christmas? I can't! It has snuck up on me so quickly. I wanted to share a card and matching ornament that I made for my best friend. She LOVES elephants, so when I saw this sweet digital stamp, I knew I needed to make something special for her. To say that I am happy with how these turned out would be a gross understatement!
To make this card, I colored this darling little Agnes Elephant Digital Stamp from Polkadoodles with my Copic markers and then cut her out with my Brother SNC. I made a rosette from some retired Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up.
I wanted the rosette to have a low profile since it would be used on the card front, so I scored my strips of DSP at 1/4" and then created my accordion folds. Once I had my rosette built, I adhered some gold metallic thread to the back and then adhered it to my solid card panel, creating the appearance of an ornament.
To complete my card, I adhered all of my panels to the card base and added a bow to the "ornament." I embossed my sentiment in a gloriously sparkly red embossing powder from Kindred Stamps and adhered the strip to Agnes' feet before gluing her down to the "ornament."
I had colored multiple images and so I created another rosette from a different DSP. This time, I scored at 1/2" to give it a bit more depth. Before gluing all of the bits of my rosette together, I strung a piece of gold metallic thread through the center. I then adhered a bow to the top and Agnes to the front.
We haven't exchanged gifts yet, but I cannot wait to see the look on her face when she opens these!
Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope that your holidays are blessed and full of love and laughter.
Xoxoxo, Kim
