Good morning, lovelies! Today, I am sharing a card I made to enter into two challenges.
I stumbled across The Flower Challenge and it sounded right up my alley! It is a challenge that celebrates cards using flowers, and you know I love flowers.
The prompt for this challenge is to add spots or stripes... and of course, use flowers.
For my card, I started with a panel of white card stock, and I covered it in washi tape. This is perfect for those wide rolls of washi tape you might have in your stash that you don't know what to do with. I had seen this technique, but never tried it. It is perfect for creating a background panel in no time at all. I folded the top and bottom edges over and trimmed the excess off of the sides.
I had some floral images that I had stamped a while ago and hadn't used, so I die-cut them. When I tried arranging them on my panel, I felt like it needed something else, so I die-cut a square frame, turned it to make a diamond, and layered my flowers over and under it. When I was happy with the placement, I glued the elements together and adhered it to my card panel, which I then attached to a black card base.
Lastly, I embossed my sentiment in white on black card stock and popped it up with some foam tape. I decided against adding any embellishments, as the background was busy enough. I love this card and I can't believe how quick and easy it was to put together!
I am also entering it into the Altenew Fan Group Monthly Challenge: Washi Wonders. Guess what the requirement is for that challenge!
