Color Your Day - AECP Level 2

Good morning, crafty friends.  Today, I am sharing one of the cards that I made for my next AECP project.   The course that I took is Color Your Day with Therese Calvird.  I really enjoyed this class as it went a little deeper into color theory, and Therese provided many tips for working with color and how to introduce color into your projects.

My project was inspired by this beautiful open-source photo that I found.  I have always loved brown and pink together, but I don’t use that combination often.   I thought this would be a great opportunity.
I recently received a personalized stamp set from Altenew as a thank you, so I decided to use it for this project.  I stamped three of the largest floral image using the Red Cosmos color family and four sets of the leaves using Lime and Frayed Leaf.  I then fussy cut all of the images and set them aside.
I dry embossed my card panel and added some gold splatters for dimension.  I struggled with what to do for a sentiment and finally decided to create an ombre panel with my alcohol markers and die-cut the Smile Sentiment.  Leaving the die-cut in place (I placed some low-tack tape on the backside), I heat embossed the smile in gold.  I also heat embossed the brown sentiment strip in gold and added some gold splatter to it.
I arranged my flowers until I was happy with them and used a piece of Press 'n Seal to hold them in place.  I added a bit of adhesive to the pieces that overlapped and then covered the entire arrangement with foam tape.  I adhered my panel to the card base and then attached the flowers to the card.  I placed the sentiment strip down and then I added my smile die-cut using foam tape.  To complete my card, I added some gold sequins.
